Assignments play a crucial role in AIOU’s grading system. Without passing your assignments, you cannot pass your course—even if you perform well in exams. That’s why checking your assignment marks on time is very important.
AIOU uses two different systems for assignment marks:
- Manual + CMS Portal (Matric, FA, BA/AD programs)
- LMS Portal (B.Ed, BS, MA, MSc, M.Ed, higher programs)

How to Check Assignment Marks
a) Tutor Feedback
- When you submit assignments (by hand or post), your tutor checks them.
- Marks are written on the cover page of your assignment.
- Sometimes the tutor also returns assignments with remarks & corrections.
b) CMS (Student Portal)
Once tutors send marks to AIOU, they appear in CMS (Student Portal).
Steps:
- Login to AIOU CMS Portal.
- Enter your Registration No. & Password.
- Go to Academics → Assignments → Grade Book.
- You will see marks for:
- Assignment No. 1
- Assignment No. 2
- (For Matric/FA also Assignment 3 and 4)
- Assignment No. 1
c) Regional Office Help
- If your marks are missing on CMS even after tutor checking, visit your AIOU Regional Office.
- Carry proof: assignment copy, submission slip, or tutor confirmation.
How to Check Assignment Numbers For B.Ed, BS, MA, MSc, M.Ed, and Higher Programs
These programs are fully digital and marks are available directly in the Aaghi LMS Portal.
How to Check Assignment Marks
Steps:
- Login to your AIOU LMS (Aaghi Portal).
- Go to My Courses tab.
- Select the course (e.g., 5617, 6503).
- Open the Assignments Section.
- You’ll see:
- Assignment 1 → Status (Submitted / Graded) + Marks
- Assignment 2 → Status (Submitted / Graded) + Marks
- Assignment 1 → Status (Submitted / Graded) + Marks
Marks are usually out of 100 (or according to course policy).

General Rules About Assignment Marks
- Passing Marks: You must score at least 40% in each assignment.
- Weightage: Assignments count for 30%–40% of total course marks. The final exam carries the rest.
- Reasons for Missing Marks:
- Wrong tutor submission
- Wrong roll number or course code
- Tutor did not send/upload marks
- Wrong tutor submission
